Melissa Vail, Sales & Service Integration Specialist
Melissa Vail is a business consultant specializing in strategic planning, operations, sales and training solutions for the health club and spa industry. She brings a fresh, sophisticated, upscale approach to a sometimes flat and formulaic business.
In her 12 years of industry experience, Melissa has held various leadership positions and has excelled in sales strategy and training. Her career began in corporate membership sales and continued as she held regional and national sales and marketing roles in large multi-club facilities and upscale, boutique-style chains. She has also been integral in operational development of many facilities, as well.
Ms Vail spent 8 years at David Barton Gym, an upscale boutique gym with locations in New York City, Chicago and Miami where she was the Director of Marketing and Sales. She was responsible for the successful revenue growth of all existinglocations. Ms Vail managed the successful pre-sale and launch of several David Baron locations including the flagship Chelsea and upper east side locations in NYC, the new 30,000 sq foot location in Chelsea, the Miami location housed in Ian Schrage’s world-renowned Delano Hotel, the River North area of Chicago, and most recently the Ganesevoort location which opened in Miami in 2007.
In addition Melissa assisted in the pre-sale and launch of 3 Club H locations in the tri-state area plus provided operational and sales support for The Mezzanine Spa in Soho and Spa H in Murray Hill. In all of her project she was responsible for the strategic marketing and sales campaigns for the launch of the new location through maturity.
Melissa has participated in IHRSA and Club Industry conferences and has an impressive circle of industry associates who she can call upon for clients in various areas of expertise, as needed.
Having worked in the high-end market for many years, Melissa began to develop sales protocols for her teams that embraced a coaching model for sales. She is excited to join the mPower Selling team that offers clubs an opportunity to make significant growth in their sales and service using innovative methodology and systems.
Melissa is completing her Masters in Business Administration from New York University and holds her Bachelors from University of Delaware.
